Dunham Park Scout Camp offers camping and indoor accommodation for adventure and activities.

It is managed by Greater Manchester West County Scouts on National Trust land - providing outdoor activities on Stamford Estate land since 1922.

Outdoor camping is available from Easter to the end of October in 10 small sites around a central activity field. These sites offer space for patrol / section / group camping or can be linked together for District camps.

Indoor accommodation is available year round in Frank Harrop Lodge with 20 beds in bunks (two 8 bed rooms and two 2 bed rooms) together with kitchen, large room for activities / dining and associated single toilet and washbasin. Plates knives forks pots and pans cater for 50.

Seperate toilet, washing and showers for adults and young people. Hot water on demand - no extra cost.

Well stocked tuck shop available for sweets, drinks, pocket money toys and souvenirs. Open after flag break, 2pm , 7pm or by arrangement.

Weekend wardens on site most weekends during camping season

Fees: all our fees are per 24hours
CAMP FEES 2010: Due to the increasing cost of power, the cost of the Harrop Lodge will rise by £10 per 24hrs to £140 from 1st January 2010, for all new bookings. All other fees will be unchnged

Camping: £3 per person per 24hrs - so Friday teatime to Sunday tea time is £6 per person
Harrop lodge: £130 per 24hrs - inclusive of gas / electricity and includes 20 campfees. so Friday teatime - Sunday teatime is £260. if more than 20 people use the building the price goes up by £3 per person per 24hrs.

Day visitors - part day (max 3hrs) £1 ; All day - £2       evening activities: £1 per person

Activities
All £20 per hour using our equipment. If you use our range / tower and your own equipment cost £10 per hour

Instructors usually available if sufficient notice given £15 per Instructor per session (session = 2 hrs)
Camp leaders are responsible for obtaining all neccessary permission.

We can put you in touch with National Trust rangers who offer guided walks in the adjacent deer park for groups

Farm Walk, off Dunham Road, Bowdon, Altrincham
From M56 junction 7, turn onto A56 towards Altrincham, turn left 400yds into Farm Walk (Private drive to Home Farm)
From Altrincham : A56 towards M56, past the Texaco garage and the flower seller.
Turn right at the traffic island opposite Bowgreen Road into Farm Walk (Private drive to Home Farm)
Follow the drive towards the large white gate, taking care as there are young children and animals about.
The farmer has dairy cattle and on occasions you will be delayed to allow the herd to cross the drive.
At the white gate turn left and pass through the five bar gate into the campsite.

If you follow the brown tourist signs for Dunham Massey Hall to the end - you will go past the campsite!

Room for upto 8 coaches - please advise if you are arriving by coach to ensure turning space available.

You must book to come to the campsite at least 14 clear days in advance of the event. Any parties arriving without prior booking may be refused access. If you don't book, then you are considered as tresspassers on the site and not convered by insurance. There are times when the site is closed or being used for other events which preclude camping  / scout activities.

The NEW adventure playground are currently being funded and expected to be available for 2010. Also expected for 2010: Pedal car track and Low ropes course.
