Access to the National Trust deer park adjacent to the site is direct from the site via a stile in the park wall. This restricted in June and July due to the fawning season for the deer, and again in October and November during the rutting season.  Access is always available via the stile to the rest of the deer park (even during these restricted months. The National Trust Park Rangers can organise nature walks in the deer park with due notice. Tents may not be erected in the Deer Park.  The area at the bottom of the site is ideal for tracking and pioneering.  Wet weather shelter and a traverse wall. adventure playground for Cub Scouts and Scouts.  The archery and air rifle ranges are located in this area.

There is a campfire circle which doubles as a chapel. Parker's Pool provides opportunity for water activities, the site has seven canoes available for hire. Three barrels and spars are available for raft building.  Pond dipping is available for younger members.  The pool has a number of fish, but no fishing or swimming is allowed.  Beyond the Pool is a conservation area in the south west corner of the site with many species of wild flowers and birds

The toilet block now has separate facilities for adults (Gents and Ladies) and separate boys and girls accommodation, each fitted with hot power showers and hot and cold washing facilities.  The camp shop is well stocked with sweets, drinks, gifts and souvenirs.

An abseiling tower with a climbing face has been refurbished and is available for use.
