Adventurous Activity Instructors

Can you help?

Dunham Park Scout Camp is proud to be able to offer the services of adventurous activity instructors to Groups without their own, but we are always looking for new instructors to join our team. If you or anyone in your Group has an adventurous activity authorisation for ARCHERY   CANOEING  CLIMBING & ABSEILING RIFLE SHOOTING and would like to instruct young people and Leaders at Dunham Park Scout Camp, please contact the Activity Manager (details below). There is a £15 payment (per each session – 2 hours minimum) available to instructors if they wish to claim it. Otherwise, it is donated back to the campsite. Thanking you.

Please contact the Activities Manager, Mick White.

Please note that only members of the Scout Association are covered by Scout Insurance.  We therefore cannot allow non-members to take part in site activities and that non-members are not insured for personal injury.  Non-members include sons, daughters and spouses of leaders, mothers and fathers of members.  You can extend your cover for such people through Scout Association Insurance at Lancing.  We need documentary proof of such cover prior to any event.  Suitable evidence of leader's authorisation for activities must be produced on demand. Leaders are responsible for obtaining parental consent for all activities.  Every young person under 16 must have a written note from their parent to take part in any adventurous activity.  Such written consent can only be given if parents are aware in writing of proposed activities.

Activities can be booked prior to the camp for a maximum of 2 hours per group.  This allows each group of campers to share the activities over the weekend.  Use of Site Instructor (needs pre-booking) £15.00 per session of two hours (fixed fee).

You will be required to provide documentary proof that your instructor complies with Scout Association requirements.  All activities must comply with the up-to-date Policy Organisation and Rules of the Scout Association.  Leaders are responsible for ensuring that all activities comply with current Policy Organisation and Rules of the Scout Association and any additional Fact Sheets.
